The work

The ledger is append-only, double-entry, and reconciled against the bank every night. Most of the interesting work is in what happens when a payment is in flight and something breaks.

Worth knowing

  • Two days a week in Manchester.
  • Every change to the ledger gets two reviewers, no exceptions.

Must have

  • Rust in production
  • Financial systems or another domain with hard correctness needs
  • Designed for failure, not just uptime

Nice to have

  • Open banking or card schemes
  • Formal methods, even lightly
