Who you deal with
Former engineers
Between us we’ve shipped backend services, firmware for a medical device and an FPGA design. We can read your spec and ask useful questions about it.
We tighten the brief with you
We come back with questions about which requirements are firm and which have some give. One exchange by email.
Candidates arrive informed
They’ve read your interview process and answered your screening questions before you meet them.
Terms in writing first
Agreed per engagement and confirmed in writing before we start work.
What we ask for
Publish the salary band
As numbers on the advert. If you can’t, say so up front and we’ll tell you whether we can still take the role.
Publish the interview process
Every stage up front, with a duration you’ll keep to.

What hiring managers ask us
Do we have to publish the salary band?+
We ask you to. Candidates who know the number before applying are better matched, and a mismatch shows up before your engineers have spent hours interviewing. If you can’t publish it, tell us up front.
How many candidates will we see?+
As many as clear the brief and no more. Each one comes with their CV, their answers to your screening questions and our reasoning.
How do you vet?+
A written screen against your must-haves, then a conversation with one of our engineers about something the candidate has built. We read their public code or writing where there is any. No timed algorithm tests.
We need someone urgently. Can you skip steps?+
Everyone you see has been through the screen, whatever the deadline.
Do you work retained or exclusive?+
Terms are agreed per engagement. We set ours out in our first reply to your brief.
Do you cover hardware?+
Yes. Embedded and firmware, FPGA and ASIC, electronics, mechanical and controls.
What do you need from us?+
The salary band and interview process for the advert, and a sentence on why whenever you pass on someone.
Talk to us about a role
Email us the spec, or tell us what you need. An engineer replies.
